In summary, patient is a ___ year old ___ with no significant past medical history who presents with cyanosis
Differential diagnoses:
Based on the symptoms, my differential includes: methemoglobinemia
There are also 20 diseases that can present with a chief complaint of cyanosis: drug effect, CHF, COPD, asthma, pneumonia, ILD, carbon monoxide poisoning, PE, foreign body, pneumothorax, raynaud phenomenon, arterial occlusion, cyanotic heart disease, tetralogy of fallot, PDA, acrocyanosis, upper airway obstruction, shock, croup, spasmodic croup
After reviewing the signs and symptoms, I narrowed the differential to the following diseases: methemoglobinemia
# methemoglobinemia: I suspect this because of cyanosis. Will recommend: - get ABG
- dx with methemoglobin absorption spectra
